(ûrn′härt′), Dale 1951-2001.
American stock car driver who, after winning the Daytona 500 race (1998), was killed three years later in a crash at the same event. His son, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. (born 1974), won the Daytona 500 in 2004 and 2014.
