ISLAMABAD -- Condolences started pouring in after religious scholar and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami (JUI-S) chief Maulana Samiul Haq was assassinated in a targeted attack in Rawalpindi on Friday.
Prime Minister Imran Khan strongly condemned the martyrdom of Maulana Samiul Haq.
President Dr Arif Alvi expressed sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of Maulana Samiul Haq.
He said that Maulana Samiul Haq s political and religious services will be remembered.
JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazl-ul-Rehman condemned the killing of Sami saying 'I myself was a student of Darul Haqqani for eight years.
Former Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal in his Tweet condemned the killing saying, 'Terrible news - Assassination of Maulana Samiul Haq is very tragic - May Allah Bless his soul Ameen!.'
Can the Maulana from the MMA manage to move back into mainstream matters of the state by masquerading as the man with the macabre plan out on a mission to unhorse Imran Khan from the cart of the government?
And so the scene shifts to Lahore where Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Chief of his own faction of the Jamiat Ulema-e- Islam (F) has arrived on a mission that involves two other men both of whom are also to be found in this city.
