A locality in the Indus River valley of the Punjab in Pakistan. Archaeological finds dating back to the third millennium bc include the remains of a well-laid-out city and indicate a possible link between Indian and Sumerian cultures.

LAHORE -- Provincial Minister for Education and Archeology Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that a plan of promoting and preserving Harappa archives has been prepared under public private partnership.
Apart from Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi, he would also visit the historical sites of Mohenjodaro and Harappa to see the archaeological marvels of yore.
Now, when we usually think of this wonder of the ancient world we think of Moenjodaro and Harappa, and perhaps Mehrgarh.
