Caption: Winchester's Deer Season XP Copper Impact bullet is a monometal design with a large hollow nose, polymer tip and mild
boattail. Pictured is the 150-grainer pulled from a .30-'06 Springfield round.
A mild
boattail helps aerodynamics, although being intended for deer, most CI XP projectiles are too light-for-caliber to have really high ballistic coefficient numbers.
The heaviest Nosier factory load is its 85-grain RDF hollowpoint, whereas Federal offers two 90-grain Valkyrie loads: Fusion MSR 90-grain spitzer
boattail and 90-grain Sierra MatchKing.
Three of our rifles will feed and shoot Ballistic Tips, Partitions, and
boattail Spitzers weighing from 150 to 200 grains with no feeding problems whatsoever.
* 1933 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Skiff Bodied Roadster Wood
BoattailThe Balle D was the first military load to be fielded sporting both a spitzer profile and a
boattail to improve its exterior ballistics.
Retaining elements of the original Jaguar design it also combines aspects of a Lincoln Zephyr and a Porsche, plus classic Bugattis in its 1930s-style
boattail rear end.
The 810/812 sedan was penned by legendary designer Gordon Buehrig, who also is credited with the Stutz Black Hawk, Duesenberg Model J, Auburn
Boattail Speedster, and later Ford's Victoria Coupe and Continental Mark II.
* 7,92mm naboj vzor34--in 1934 the Czech army adopted the German designed 7.9mm Patrone sS (schweres Spitzgeschoss--"heavy pointed bullet") with a 198-grain FMJ,
boattail, spitzer bullet moving at 2575 fps.
Among the museum's top-rated exhibits is a 1937 Auburn
Boattail Speedster.
My personal favourites included the Diljeet Titus-owned Stutz Series M Dual Cowl Speedster, Ranjit Mallik's Phantom 1
Boattail Tourer which Prince Michael of Kent took for a spin after the event, Rajiv Kehr''s rather European 1934 Packard Super 8 and Dharmaditya Patnaik's Series 1 E Type while in the Preservation class my vote went to the Steyr Cabriolet Typ22o owned by Harshvardhan Singh of Dungarpur.
