Other lizards of the genus Sceloporus also have a diet of insects (Sceloporus mucronatus, Mendez de la Cruz et al, 1992;
Sceloporus undulatus consobrinus, Gadsden-Esparza & Palacios-Orona, 1995; Sceloporus gadoviae, Feria-Ortiz & Perez-Malvaez, 2001).
Algo similar ocurre en hembras de
Sceloporus undulatus, las cuales produjeron dos puestas por estacion reproductora, y en donde los huevos de la primera nidada (en invierno) fueron relativamente mas pequenos y el tamano de nidada grande, contrario a lo que sucede en la segunda puesta (en verano); este resultado esta relacionado directamente con los recursos disponibles (Pianka & Vitt, 2003).
