POPera!" at 7:30 p.m.
With 160 certified gold and platinum its in 35 different countries, it pioneered the genre of peratic pop, or "
popera", in classical crossover music.
Known as operatic pop (and sometimes as the far catchier
popera), this is a subgenre of pop music performed in an operatic singing style, or a song, theme or motif from classical music stylised as pop which sprang from the Tin Pan Alley musicians of the early 1900s.
Faith now dreams of being the classical world's answer to Beyonce, adding: "I'd love to be a '
popera Beyonce'.
Soon after bursting onto the scene in the early 2000s, Josh became a poster boy of sorts for classical crossover or '
popera' music: A dorky young singer with curly locks whose singing scratched opera's pomp and reveled in the accessibility of pop.
The regular concerts in November presented passionate performances including
