The only new medication was
dicyclomine, which was started about a month before her admission.
In the 1970s, a lot of that litigation centered around the morning sickness drug Bendectin--originally formulated with doxylamine succinate, pyridoxine HCl, and
dicyclomine HC1, and later reformulated without the
dicyclomine.
The drugs that were ingested included: triclofos, olanzapine, iron, norfloxacin,
dicyclomine, sasartan, iodophor, carbamazepine, lisinopril, haloperidol, nalidixic acid, amlodepin, lorazepam, herbal medicine, clonazepam, hydroquinone, metoclopromide, dapsone and atropine eye drops.

Supplemental agents for comfort or relief of specific symptoms (loperamide for diarrhea,
dicyclomine for cramping, ondansetron for nausea) may be useful when standard treatment with [alpha]-adrenergic agonists (clonidine, guanfacine, lofexidine) do not provide full relief.

Interventions with some evidence of effectiveness for infantile colic include hypoallergenic diets and formula, soy formula, decreased infant stimulation, herbal tea, and

Dicyclomine (Bentyl and other products), a drug used for stomach problems, not only doesn't help babies with colic, but causes side-effects such as shortness of breath, seizures, and coma.
Surveillance studies with
dicyclomine have noted an increased incidence of birth defects, but because there is no clustering of specific defects, there may be no association, and the risk is considered low.
