Punt·land

 (pŭnt′lənd)
A region of northeast Somalia adjoining the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean. Largely autonomous since Somalia's national government collapsed in the 1990s, Puntland became notorious in the first decade of the 21st century as a haven for pirates preying on international shipping.
