SAN FRANCISCO -- Pregnant women who have obstructive sleep apnea have a 2.3-fold increased risk of gestational diabetes and a 4.2-fold increased risk of pregnancy-induced hypertension, compared with women without the
sleep disorder, according to a poster presentation at the International Conference of the American Thoracic Society.

sleep disorder. An estimated 70 million Americans suffer from insomnia, which is the difficulty initiating and/or maintaining sleep for a variety of reasons.

It was found that 129 of 250 participants (51.6%) were suffering from one or more
sleep disorder. Most prevalent
sleep disorder was Insomnia followed by bruxism then nightmares and least common being sleep apnea (Table 1).
It is the most common
