2. Any of several other autoimmune disorders typically characterized by reddish, scaly lesions on the skin, especially:
a. A chronic cutaneous form characterized by patchy lesions that form especially on the head and neck, with accompanying scarring and pigmentation changes; discoid lupus erythematosus.
b. A form caused by exposure to a drug and resolving with discontinuance of the drug, characterized by signs and symptoms similar to those of systemic lupus erythematosus; drug-induced lupus erythematosus.
