When the Liberal government brings in legislation that approves
embryonic stem-cell research, you have the opportunity of defying it and thereby save your soul.
In late August, a federal judge issued a preliminary injunction temporarily stopping federal funding for
embryonic stem-cell research. An appeals court has since temporarily stayed that order.
"We make scientific decisions based on facts, not ideology," the president asserted as he announced his decision to provide federal funding for
embryonic stem-cell research. Millions of taxpayers believe these experiments are unethical as they require the destruction of embryonic human life.
Obama has left it up to the National Institutes of Health to control what scientists can do with federal money and opponents of
embryonic stem-cell research fear the NIH could open up the possibilities.
Dear Editor, I am disappointed with President Obama's decision to rescind the Bush administration's strict limits on human
embryonic stem-cell research.
The order will remove curbs on federal funding for
embryonic stem-cell research. By doing so, Obama will be reversing a policy that critics say has hampered the fight into finding treatments for grave diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and diabetes, a senior administration official said.
