Barred sand bass (commonly, sand bass), Paralabrax nebulifer, is part of the largest recreational fishery in Southern California as well as a large artisanal fishery in Mexico.
The purpose of this study was to examine aspects of the early life history of spotted sand bass and barred sand bass by using daily growth ring and settlement check analysis of young-of-the-year (YOY) specimens.
