S[O.sub.2] adsorption tests were carried out using the original, unprocessed ash, dry ground ash and "semi-dry" ground ash, with 5% and 7% water added during grinding with the Szego Mill.
The ground ash was sieved; the fraction passing a 100-mesh sieve (0.149 mm) was collected and stored in dry condition.
C[O.sub.2]- and S[O.sub.2]-binding characteristics of ground ash samples were determined in dry gaseous atmosphere containing C[O.sub.2] or S[O.sub.2] keeping their partial pressure on the level of 190 mmHg.
