Of land-birds I obtained twenty-six kinds, all peculiar to the group and found nowhere else, with the exception of one lark-like finch from North America (
Dolichonyx oryzivorus), which ranges on that continent as far north as 54 degs., and generally frequents marshes.
We focused on seven grassland bird species: sedge wren (Cistothorus paltensis), Savannah sparrow (Passerculus sandzmchensis), grasshopper sparrow (Ammodramus savannarum), Henslow's sparrow (Ammodramus hensloxmi), dickcissel (Spiza americana), bobolink (
Dolichonyx oryzivorus), and western meadowlark (Sturnella neglecta).
Vegetation structure, food supply, and polygyny in bobolinks (
Dolichonyx oryzivorus).
This is how my ''Birds of Illinois'' guide describes the bubbly, musical ''voice'' of
Dolichonyx oryzivorus, known to the ornithologically minded as the bobolink.
Other species widely held in early American homes included Baltimore orioles (Icterus galbula), bobolinks (
Dolichonyx oryzivorus), rose-breasted grosbeaks (Pheucticus ludovicianus), eastern bluebirds (Sialia sialis), indigo buntings (Passerina cyanea), gray catbirds (Dumetella carolinensis), purple finches (Carpodacus purpureus), "black caps" or black-capped chickadees (Poecile atricapilla), and red-winged blackbirds (Agelaius phoeniceus).
Grasshopper sparrows (Ammodramus savannarum), eastern meadowlarks (Sturnella magna) and bobolinks (
Dolichonyx oryzivorus) had the greatest reproductive success rates (both annual and Mayfield), which were comparable to those reported by Ingold in 2002 for these species.
In other areas of the EAA, large numbers of blackbirds and bobolinks (
Dolichonyx orrzivorus L.) were observed over rice fields in late summer and autumn (E.

Dolichonyx oryzivorus) near different types of edges in northern Iowa.--The Auk 120: 799-810.
Bobolink (
Dolichonyx orizyvorus)--New state record.
Special birds of open areas were
Dolichonyx oryzivorus (Bobolink) and Spiza americana (Dickcissel).
El origen de su inclusion en Tucuman proviene de Cabrera (1961) quien simplemente la cito como Akodon andinus
dolichonyx (Philippi), indicando que llega "...por el Este hasta el Aconquija, entre Catamarca y Tucuman".
