Uranium mineralization has been intersected at or near the unconformity between the Athabasca sandstone and basement
rock units, often graphitic, with associated base metals values and rare gold occurrences at downhole depths ranging between 463 metres and 682 metres.
Rock units are generally altered with variable amounts of chlorite, carbonate, sericite and/or silica.
Host rocks include Jurassic-Cretaceous meta-sedimentary
rock units including argillite, shale, quartzite, limestone, quartz pebble conglomerate and andesite.
Gold mineralisation is associated with shear zones within the komatiite unit as well as along the contact with the mafic (basalts)
rock units.
In the study area,
rock units consist of metamorphosed sequence from the Precambrian to the Tertiary (comprises: Genesis, schist, Mica-schist, and meta-rhyolite).
The property geology contains the contact between Confederation and Balmer Assemblage
rock units as well as folded mafic and ultramafic volcanics with mafic and felsic intrusives also present.
"The Tanzanian story is far from over but we know enough to start asking what paleontological and geological similarities and dissimilarities there are with nearby
rock units. Revisiting Malawi is my top priority to address these broader, regional questions," said Gorscak, who also participates in ongoing projects in Egypt and Kenya.
These supports are designed with out proper geotechnical evaluation and also without estimating the roof pressure of the overlying
rock units, (Plate 3 and 4).
The device supports daisy chaining with other
Rock units, although we couldn't verify the feature or its performance since we only had one unit with us.
After the opening of the South Atlantic, vast quantities of clastic sediments poured into the delta giving rise to three main
rock units which are partially time equivalents and deposited as pro-graded wedges.
"We've analyzed the heck out of each scrap of Bissekty tyrannosaur bone," Brusatte says, "so the thing that could move us forward is the discovery of new specimens in other middle Cretaceous
rock units in other parts of the world."
