Mark Roberts was climbing the
Parsley Fern Gully in Cwm Glas on Snowdon two weeks ago when a large piece of ice fell causing him to lose his footing and slide down the gully.
Mr Roberts, 47, was climbing in the Parsley Fern Gully, Cwm Glas, on the eastern side of Snowdon, with two others on February 24.
The Parsley Fern Gully is a well-known climbing spot which confident climbers would tackle without ropes.
Warner Brothers - the film's producers - has agreed to protect these plants, including the locally abundant but rare
Parsley Fern, using methods such as cloches and camouflage.
The route then passed across the wooded fellside of Birk Fell, through bushes of gin-scented juniper, beneath which fronds of delicate
parsley fern seems to spring from the naked rocks.
The man in his 40s was climbing at
Parsley Fern Gully, Cwm Glas, Snowdonia, in sub-zero temperatures when he plummeted down the slope.
During the site inspection members and officers were told by the Park's ecologist, Dr Rod Gritten, that plants on the undisturbed slope of the site, included Parsley Fern, was a rare species worthy of conservation.
It was agreed no extraction of waste would start until areas of the mineral working deposit, which include Parsley Fern, had been fenced off, and that no excavations should take place after September 30, 2003.
