Triumph Group (NYSE: TGI) has announced it has joined Lockheed Martin company (NYSE: LMT) Sikorsky, to celebrate the successful first flight of the Black Hawk helicopter equipped with a
fly-by-wire technology kit, the company said.
F-17 Block III aircraft will reportedly be fitted with a new electronic warfare system, upgraded avionics including a three-axis
fly-by-wire digital flight control system, a helmet-mounted display and sight system, and Pakistan's first Chinese-made AESA.
Airbus' A320 Family epitomises features that are now standard in most new-generation business jets - such as enhanced-protection
fly-by-wire controls, cost-saving centralised maintenance and weight-saving carbon fibre.
This
fly-by-wire system can also recognise and discourage commands that might cause a stall or other hazards to safe flight.
The former Bombardier CSeries program, which was acquired by Airbus in July of 2018, targets the 100-150-seat niche and the approval by Transport Canada widens the scope of operations for the highly regarded
fly-by-wire airliner.
These include
fly-by-wire power steering that permits the operator to remain within the truck footprint; a low step height; operator detection sensor throughout the platform to accommodate multiple operating positions; and a foot-controlled platform.
But they do fit with the scenario that the aircraft had been wrecked by fire and was kept airborne by the
fly-by-wire system.
