Here, we report a case of bilateral acute angle-closure glaucoma associated with
venlafaxine.
The use of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, such as sertraline, fluvoxamine, fluoxetine or serotonin, and noradrenaline reuptake inhibitors, such as
venlafaxine XR and duloxetine, have been shown to be associated with hyperprolactinemia and/or galactorrhea in some cases (2, 3).
In head-to-head studies, the most effective antidepressants were agomelatine, amitriptyline, escitalopram, mirtazapine, paroxetine,
venlafaxine, and vortioxetine, while the least efficacious were fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, reboxetine, and trazodone.
In a new study, researchers found that
venlafaxine, a basic treatment for depression, ensures a better reduction in symptoms of depression when combined with lavender oil.
In addition, indirect treatment comparison (ITC) was performed with vortioxetine vs sertraline,
venlafaxine, bupropion, and citalopram using extant switch studies published in the biomedical literature.
The purpose of our study was to evaluate the effects of magnesium associated with sertraline and
venlafaxine on the spontaneous behavior and the motor activity in old rats.
The deceased (a 34-year-old Caucasian male) was taking
venlafaxine XR 150 mg twice daily.
Citalopram, paroxetine,
venlafaxine, and mirtazapine don't improve depression scores (strength of recommendation [SOR]: A, meta-analyses of randomized controlled trials [RCTs]).
Evidence from several sources suggests that (SNRIs)--such as
venlafaxine, duloxetine, desvenlafaxine, and milnacipran - may be more effective treatments for depression than therapies that act on a single neurotransmitter (17,18).
Prescribed medication was taken from the vehicle which included 100 x Tramadol tablets, 50mg green and beige capsules and 30 x
Venlafaxine tablets and 75mg light pink round tablets.
B has a history of major depressive disorder, which has been well controlled with
venlafaxine, 225 mg/d, for 7 years, and reports no previous manic episodes.
