La sua storia, piena di intrighi e magie per assecondare i gusti, mai awezzi al consueto, del pubblico veneziano, presentava tre caratteri nuovi (Cleoanta, amante di Rinaldo, Telesia promessa sposa di Adrasto, principe danese innamorato di Cleoanta) e una storia liberamente ispirata al Tasso com'egli stesso scrisse nell'Argomento che precedeva la stampa del libretto:

Francesco attended the gymnasium in Cerreto Sannita a small centre next to the roman town of Telesia and the high school in the Lyceum "Luigi Sodo", an important school in the southern Italy, run by Franciscans, but not of religious orientation.

For Telesia, this process of antiperistasis led him to conclude that the warmth and the cold tended naturally to preserve themselves.
