HOLIDAYMAKERS were warned yesterday that leg-room on economy long-haul flights can vary by up to 6in.

The society say the tomb's design is unfit for a medieval warrior king but it's difficult to know what a good coffin should have these days, apart from ample leg-room and breathing apparatus (just in case).

The airline will operate a 230 seat L1011-500 Tristar aircraft with prices from pounds 449 one-way in the silver (economy) cabin, which claims to offer the world's longest leg-room and eight seats abreast.

It is powered by a 103bhp 1.5-litre petrol engine that is available with both manual and automatic gearboxes.The Materia has abs, side airbags, air conditioning, electric windows and alloy wheels - all as standard.

But extra charges - from sitting together as a family to having extra leg-room - can drive the price sky high.

The budget airline had hoped that passengers would pay pounds 10 extra to bag the seats with the most leg-room.
