New Delhi [India], Aug 26 (ANI): Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Monday said that the depleting
groundwater level, overexploitation and deteriorating quality of water are major challenges in providing clean drinking water.
A ministry official said, 'Since 2007 the
groundwater level has been rising.

groundwater level has gone down even in water-rich north Bihar despite the huge tract of the Indo-Gangetic Plain.
