announced that Integrated Brands, Inc., its wholly owned subsidiary, has completed the purchase of the Dreamery and Whole Fruit Sorbet brands from Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, Inc., as well as the right to the license for the Godiva ice cream brand, which was assigned by Dreyer's, and that Eskimo Pie Frozen Distribution, Inc., a newly formed wholly-owned subsidiary of CoolBrands, has completed the purchase from Nestle of most of the Haagen-Dazs frozen dessert distribution assets in the U.S.

The agreement with the FTC stipulates that Dreyer's sells its Dreamery and Whole Fruit Sorbet brands, as well as assigns its license of the Godiva brand to CoolBrands International.

The ice cream category, for example, is being propelled by premium varieties such as Edy's Dreamery brand, with flavors like tiramisu and deep dish apple pie.

It will now own two-thirds of a firm that also includes Dreyer's Dreamery, Starbucks and Godiva lines and Nestle's US brands Drumstick, Nestle crunch and Butterfinger.

Expect about the same from vanillas made by Haagen-Dazs, Stonyfield Farm, and Dreyer's or Edy's Dreamery line.

Available under an aptly named new brand dubbed Edy's Dreamery, the ultra-premium ice cream line has 18 flavors, including the unique Hot Chilly Chili--spicy nuts, mole fudge swirl and vanilla for spicy food lovers; Sticky Buns--cinnamon ice cream with chunks of sticky buns, praline pecans and raisins; Blue Ribbon Berry Pie--raspberries, boysenberries and pie crust pieces; and Cashew Praline Parfait--vanilla ice cream with praline cashews, fudge and caramel.

Part of the dreamery space she is creating in the store is because of her love of literature and literacy in nature--going outside with a book or a notebook to read and write.
