The different anti-microbials tested were piperacillin (100 ug), ceftazidime (30 ug), amikacin (30 ug), piperacillin-tazobactam (100/10 ug), imipenem (10 ug), ciprofloxacin (5 ug), cefepime (30 ug), ceftriaxone (30 ug), aztreonam (30 ug) and
cefoperazone (30 ug).

Cefoperazone (CFZ), (6R, 7R)-7-[[(2R)-[[(4-ethyl-2, 3-dioxo-1-piperazinyl) carbonyl] amino] (4 hydroxy phenyl) acetyl] amino]-3-[[(1-methyl-1H-tetrazol-5-yl) thio] methyl]-8-oxo-5-thia-1-azabicyclo [4.2.0] oct-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid (Figure 1), has been combined with SBT in a dosage form (Sulperazone[R] or Peractam[R]) for intra-abdominal infections [7].

The majority of tested strains were resistant to cefotaxime (94.1%) amikacin (90.2%) cefritaxone (88.2%) GM (82.4%) and CAZ (60.8%), and almost half of all tested strains were resistant to
