Dr Zoe Randle, Butterfly Conservation's senior surveys officer, said: "People should be able to spot these butterflies in National Park areas as their caterpillars mainly feed on the wildflower and common
bird's foot trefoil."
This year classic meadow flowers such as yellow rattle, tufted vetch and red clover are abundant and there is more
bird's foot trefoil than I have ever seen in this meadow in nearly 30 years.
When the
bird's foot came off, it reportedly crawled away and died.
A pathway was due to be cut into the flower meadow, clearing the way through hundreds of lupin flowers,
bird's foot trefoil and clover.
If you want a space for a little wild area in your garden, nettles, sorrel, thistles and
bird's foot trefoil will provide good cover.
The gently swaying, multi-coloured sea of Ragged Robins, Yellow Hawkbit, Yellow and Orange
Bird's Foot, Mallow, Melissa, glorious red Poppies and others set against the clear blue sky actually made a traffic jam a pleasant experience.
Overgrown nails can puncture the

Small patches of land on the course will be scraped away to expose bare sand and promote growth of plants like
bird's foot trefoil,on which the moth's larvae feed.
