The Broad-snouted Caiman has a wide latitudinal distribution in South America (between 5[degrees]S and 32[degrees]S; Filogonio et al., 2010; Verdade et al., 2010), with the southernmost distribution occurring in Santa Fe province, Argentina (31[degrees]S; Simoncini et al., 2009), where populations have been under management by "Proyecto
Yacare" since 1990 (Larriera, 1990).
We have some strange animals that live here in Argentina, like carpincho (a large rodent sometimes called a capybara), gray fox, and
yacare (a caiman or alligator), among others.

yacare" alligator (Caiman latirostris, Daudin, 1802), found that diet A (pellet and beef meat) containing higher proportion of fats, produced significant elevations in triglycerides, magnesium and potassium, and the diet B (pellets and chicken meat), containing higher proportion of protein and minerals, caused significant increases in body weight, cloaca-vent length, head length, mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration, sodium, total cholesterol, HDL-C and LDL-C and conclude that changes allow the use of both diets for this species.
The
