Upper Avon River and the Swift and Clay Coton Brook, which runs near Catthorpe and Clifton Upon Dunsmore.
David Hutchings spearheaded the drive to reopen the southern Stratford Canal with the National Trust, and restored the river from Evesham to Stratford for the
Upper Avon Navigation Trust, which combined with the Lower Avon Trust to become ANT in 2010.
Other flood watches are in force on the River Trent, Derbyshire; the River Sence, Leicestershire; the Tidal Trent, the Lower Soar, and the
Upper Avon, all in Warwickshire, and the River Leam, Leamington.
David Hutchings, a trained architect, worked as an engineer, labourer and gang boss, politician, truck driver and diplomat in order to achieve his dream of restoring the Stratford Canal and
upper Avon navigation.

Sawyer, born in Bulford, Wiltshire, died, aged 74 in 1980, having spent most of his life as Keeper of the
Upper Avon but he travelled widely both in Britain and abroad.
The areas are the
Upper Avon Valley at Coventry, Rugby, Warwick and Leamington Spa and Severn Beach, Gloucester.
