Storeria dekayi, S.
valeriae), eastern worm snakes (Carphophis amoenus), ring-necked snakes (Diadophis punctatus), and red-bellied snakes (
Storeria occipitomaculata), with such species observed more frequently during autumn (Willson and Dorcas, 2004; Todd et al., 2008a).
Fifteen individuals of seven species of snakes were collected including the brown snake,
Storeria dekayi; the redbelly snake,
Storeria occipitomaculata, the cottonmouth, Agkistrodon piscivorus; the ringneck snake, Diadophis punctatus; the eastern ribbon snake, Thamnophis sauritus; the black racer, Coluber constrictor; and the rough earth snake, Virginia striatula.
One eastern garter snake (Thamnophis sirtalis), one black racer (Coluber constrictor), and one Dekay's snake (
Storeria dekayi) were also found at the depot.
The adults of three reptile species (Carphophis amoenus,
Storeria dekayi and Thamnophis sirtalis) were also significantly more abundant in Pine than Burn, whereas two reptile species (Coluber constrictor and Lampropeltis getula) were significantly less abundant (Table 2).

Storeria, Tropidoclonion, and Virginia presents some problems as members of all three genera have low, long neural spines; short, posteriorly directed hypapophyses; relatively wide zygosphenes; and similarly shaped neural arches.

Species found principally in or near wooded habitats included Hyla chrysoscelis, Scincella lateralis, Agkistrodon contortrix,
Storeria dekayi and Elaphe obsoleta.
Exceptions to this pattern of temporal variation include Opheodrys aestivus (Plummer, 1983),
Storeria occipitomaculata (Brodie and Ducey, 1989), Thamnophis radix (Seigel and Fitch, 1985) and Vipera berus (Madsen and Shine, 1992).
