(brĕm′ər-hä′vən, -hā′-, brā′mər-hä′fən) A city of northwest Germany at the mouth of the Weser River near the North Sea. It has a deep natural harbor and is an important shipping center. Transatlantic service to the United States was inaugurated here in 1847.
