British physicist. He shared a 1915 Nobel Prize with his son, Australian-born Sir William Lawrence Bragg (1890-1971), for using x-rays to analyze the structure of crystals.

British physicist who invented a device used to measure x-ray wavelengths. With his son, the physicist Sir William Lawrence Bragg (1890-1971), he developed the technique of x-ray crystallography, used to determine the atomic structure of crystals.
